150+ Live Stage Performances. Multiple Roles. Raw Spaces. Real Craft
Kaustubh Singh is a Delhi-Mumbai based actor whose foundation was built through more than 150 live stage performances between 2003 and 2016. In an era before widespread documentation, he performed extensively in street theatre, experimental works, and non-traditional spaces. This sustained live work gave him deep experience in character exploration, presence, and adaptability — long before he transitioned to screen.
This foundation, combined with his later work in front of the camera, gives him a rare and authentic understanding of performance from both the actor’s and the director’s perspective.

My Theatre Journey – Depth Through Repetition
Between 2003 and 2016, Kaustubh delivered over 150 stage performances. For him, theatre was not about one-time shows. Several key works were performed 10 to 15 times each, allowing him to explore characters in depth and develop true versatility across different interpretations of the same role.
This period of intense, repeated live work became his real training ground in method acting, presence, and adaptability — long before he stepped in front of the camera.
Signature Plays – Performed Multiple Times
These are the plays Kaustubh returned to again and again. Each repetition brought new layers, deeper character exploration, and greater emotional honesty.

These plays were not performed once — they were lived multiple times across different venues and audiences. This repetition became the foundation of his craft.
Theatre Forged in Raw, Non-Traditional Spaces
A significant portion of these 150+ performances took place outside conventional auditoriums. The work happened in open amphitheatres, public grounds, basements, industrial godowns, university campuses (JNU & Delhi University), and intimate spaces with selected audiences.
In this pre-digital era, many directors discouraged recording, believing the true power of theatre exists in the live, unrepeatable moment. This environment demanded complete presence, quick adaptation, and genuine connection with the audience.
Production Experience – Understanding Both Sides
In 2024, Kaustubh worked as Production Manager with Imago Theatre Group at Barry John Acting Studio. He was responsible for the complete on-ground execution of multiple stage productions, from permissions and venue coordination to promotions, ticketing, and final delivery.
The productions included:
- Refund + Trouble in Paradise (Lok Kala Manch Auditorium, Delhi)
- Saiyan Bhaye Kotwal (First performed at LTG Auditorium, Delhi, followed by a special performance for Indian Army personnel, officers, and their families at their large auditorium in Delhi Cantonment)
- Kanjoos (Lok Kala Manch Auditorium, Delhi)
Transition to Screen
2025

Lead Role – Dilwala Bodyguard (OTT Series)
His screen debut was the lead role in the action series Dilwala Bodyguard (2025), carrying forward the emotional honesty developed through years of live theatre.
A Dual Perspective – Actor & Casting Director
Having performed more than 150 times in raw, challenging environments and later gaining production and screen experience, Kaustubh brings a rare combination of deep artistic understanding from the actor’s side and practical insight from the production side.
This dual perspective now shapes his work as Founder and Director of Basileus Casting, where he connects authentic talent with meaningful projects across film, OTT, and advertising.
